Purse Chronicles - Exploring Women's Purses from ages 5 to 95

Event Date:
Thu, 11/10/2011 - 6:30pm - 9:30pm

Roundtable Media Group brings back its hit entertainment event, Purse Chronicles, to Denver on Thursday, November 10th at the Event Gallery/910Arts, in the heart of Denver’s Art District at 910 Santa Fe Blvd. Purse Chronicles sold out its two-month run last fall, and the producers are offering Denver audiences a one-night only opportunity to experience a “filmversation” before the event embarks on a national tour in 2012. The tour will be directed and co-produced by Conrad Ricketts, two-time Emmy winner for his work as Executive Producer of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

“Filmversation” combines a humorous film with a live, interactive performance, in which audience members share their personal stories and engage with the host, Coleen Hubbard. Besides hosting, Hubbard is also the filmmaker of the Purse Chronicles documentary, which explores what women carry in their handbags and how the contents reflect the female lifespan, from age five to 95. As Hubbard says, “Fashion is about which purse you carry; life is about what you carry in your purse.”

A defining element of “filmversation” is that the films can only be seen at live events in order to make them one-of-a-kind experiences.

“It’s about the spontaneous, interactive experience. Watching these films at home by yourself is not going to create that sense of community. We want to give people something they literally can’t see or experience anywhere else,” Hubbard says.

The event is free and will be filmed for publicity reasons. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Street parking is available and there will be a cash bar. Seating is very limited, so reservations are required. For reservations, email: filmversation@gmail.com
